Joseph Graham

He was the father of 2362 John Alexander Graham known as Alec. He was 23 when he was killed at the Krillia Nullah sector in Gallipoli.
Albeit Joseph was from Larnarkshire originally I believe he served and was shown as being from the Cape Colony. They were living at 23 Caroline Street, Edgeley, Stockport at the time of the war.

Could anyone establish for me whether there are any close matches for the above Joseph married to Eva Jane. I recall from my childhood that one of my great grandads was in the Boer war. Eva Jane was my Great Grandmother.
Joseph Graham disappeared off all records at the time of the war and Eva then lived with a James Mace.

Thanks for your time and effort. I really am very grateful.

Could you tell me whether he would have been awarded medals even though he was Killed In Action. I don't have any awarded to him. I have found some postcards written by him to my Grandma (His sister) prior to his death. I was told that my Grandma never recovered properly after he died. I am upset that we don't have any record of his death sent home, is there anywhere I can obtain a duplicate.

It looks like his birth is registered in Stockport in the 1st Qtr of 1892 Volume 8a Page 32.  His birth certificate should indicate his mothers maiden name.

so he was killed 25 days after landing in gallipoli

If there is any kind of consolation that can be had is that he was with close friends from home when it happened.

2B is reference to the first theatre of war he served in, in this case Gallipoli, ( the Balkans) 

no excuses needed Steve, why on earth would you already know that!
