7th Bn Manchesters, 21 Jan 1945 - war diary lookup request

Hi,
I am researching 14655932 Pte L F Scrutton who was killed in action on the 21st Jan 1945 with the 7th Bn, he is buried in the Sittard War Cemetery, Holland. I am trying to find out what may of happened to him and exactly where he was killed. Any info or guidance would be greatly appreciated ,

the 7th manchesters were divisional troops attatched to the 52nd lowland division,they joined the division on the 7th june 1943 and becames their MG battalion on 19th march 1943,the division was trying to clear the salient west of the river roer when he was killed.
