Joseph Ellis had been a cloth Cutter when he enlisted in 18th Bttn on 10/3/1915.  He went to France on 18/11/1915 contracted Heart Disease after being blown up in in trench April 1916.  Condition Att to active service.
Joseph was discharged sick with SWB & Pension on 2/10/1916.  He died aged 26 on 17/9/1919, cause n/k. . Reg Manchester Q31919 8d/175

Joseph Ellis died at Amcoats Hospital from acute appendicits 7 perotinitis. His widow, B Eliis, was present, resident  17 Queen's St, Newton Heath. Unrelated to service. A pattern cutter.
