Wilfred Dickinson had been a motor driver when he enlisted in 20th Bn on 21/01/1915.  He trained at Morecambe and disembarked with 20th Bn in France on 09/11/1915.  William was admitted to 2nd Gen Hosp with Bronchitis on 20/02/1916 posted home to Depot on 01/03/1916
Wilfred was discharged unfit from C Coy, 26th Bn at Altcar Camp on 20/05/1916. We received an SWB and  pension for TB originating in France in January 1916 and aggravated by service. The review in April 1918 found 60% capacity.
Wilfred died from unspecified disease on 09/07/1918, aged 21.  He is buried in plot 5283, Wrexham Cemetery.
Step-son of Catherine Dickinson of 14 Durham Street, Harpurhey. Later 10 Vernon Street, Wrexham.

Wilfred died from TB of Larynx and sic. exhaustion at his step-mother's home in Wrexham.
He had pulmonary TB at discharge - a different condition to Laryngeal TB - so the case cannot progress.
2005 Medical Journal notes state that Laryngeal TB is usually a result of pulmonary TB and still difficult to diagnose. Wilfred died from a condition that almost certainly resulted from illness that was a consequnce of his service.  If it couidn't be diagnosed in 2005, Laryngeal TB certainly wouldn't have been diagnosed in 1916. It's inconceivable to suggest he caught different TB after discharge.
Remembered here.
