William's mother Elizabeth Helsby received a Pension unitl she died in 1920.
His widow, Frances also received a Pension and War Gratuity.
He was buried in Gorton Cemetery on 15/1/1919, Consecrated Section 273.1.
The Pension Record confirms the TB was a result of service in Salonlika.  He was discharged with TB on 27/7/1917.  He attended Medical Boards to review the disability Pension including 11/10/1918, when his condition prevented 100% work.  As William died 4 months later, it's very likely he died from TB.
I will ask IFCP before ordering the DC.

The attached Death Certificate describes the cause of death as Pulmonary TB withTB of Larynx & Bowels.  Williams occupation was Paver and Army Pensioner.  He died at hom in Gorton.

We need to see if there is a headstone on William Leigh's grave in Gorton and review the condition of any inscription.

William Leigh's commemoration was approved by CWGC today. He now has an entry in UKBOR, pending acceptance of his burial at Gorton Cemetery, where a new headstone should be erected.
