Gentlemen:  I am currently researching the British Battalions on Malta during the Second World War, specifically during the period June through August 1942.  I would like to find out who commanded the companies of the 8th Battalion, the Manchester during that period.  If a specific date is needed, as of August 1, 1942 would be the best selection.

Thank you.

Hi John

welcome to the forum

i'm afraid WW2 isn't my speciality but i think the best place to look ( if noonr else can answer your question) would be  The Ardwick Boys went to Malta

Thanks, Chris.  I found another reference to the book in another topic...I appreciate the link!

A quick look in the "Ardwick boys" gives no complete order of battle for anything else than 1939 and 1940. Could not find any namde company commanders for later years in the text.

Lars.
Have another look at the captions for the photographs on pages 35 and 99.  In addition Captain T P Bryant commanded E Company which was formed in September 1940.

Robert, sorry I missed the captions. I also see that on p. 94 Philip Wilson is mentioned as Company Commander of B in late april 1942.
