I have had some great help in the 1914-1918 section with my quest to find out more about my Grandad and his time with the Manchester Regiment. So as he was also involved in the Boer War I thought I would try posting here aswell. Harribobs has sent me a copy of his medal card for the Great War. However I also have his Boer War campaign medal bearing 5668 Pte W Tabern inscribe on the edge, with VICTORIA one one side and what I presume is BRITANNIA on the other with SOUTH AFRICA around the perimeter, the bars across the ribbon read - SOUTH AFRICA 1902, SOUTH AFRICA 1901 and ORANGE FREE STATE. Again, any help or information is gratefully recieved.
