I am trying to find further information about William Carter from Chorlton-cun-Hardy, Manchester and W.S.Laidlaw whom I believe to be from the same area, who both died in 1917 on the Western Front.  I'm afraid I have no details about their regiment, but assume it was the Manchester.  Any help you can give would be most gratefully received.
