George W Manning
« on: January 08, 2016, 09:56:25 AM »
George Manning died of Septicemia following a wound to his right lower leg. He died at Reserve Hospital Trier IV.
The Chief Medical Officer, Deaconess Christine Scharf, described his last days

The casualty was very ill when he arrived at our hospital. Despite his pain he was content and always ready to cheer up his comrades. In the last days before his death he was quiet and spoke a lot about his mother. He received a letter from her on his last day, which made him very happy. On the morning of 28.07 Manning went peacefully to his eternal home.

Hi Charlie

I was going to ask you do you have any info on this lad.

As I posted his Pics 2/5 TF years ago, but I was looking at soldiers effects and it had PoW on the paper work.

Cheers for posting this

Roy
