8 databases of service records still held by the MoD for personnel with dates of birth before 1901, i.e. Regulars and re-enlistments with service in the Great War. Among them HM King George VI. They start about half way down.

Hi Charlie,
I tried to find one or two suspects in this datasets and failed.  Became terribly confused but gave up.  Have you gleaned anything?

I found them easy enough to search. The soldier I was hoping might be among them isn't :-[
