died in ashton hospital from chronic nephritis 18-6-1920
aged 34
buried dukinfield cemetery.grave 1751
his wife was still trying to get a memorial scroll for him in 1921,she stated that he died of illness caused by his war service

PRCs say cause of death as Chronic Nephritis & Dilation of Heart. No comment on agg or att.
Ethel received a Pension on Appeal and claimed in a letter that the condition was aggravated. 40 Newman St, Ashton.

Edwin Foster's case is still challenging.  He spent time in the trenches until he was captured and held as POW for almost 2 years. He died from Nephrites.  This is almost certainly a disease Edwin contracted in service, but we have no proof.  The success of the his Widow's pension appeal supports the case, but this isn't enough.
