Pte Coleman served with 1/8th Bttn in the MEF from 25/9/1914 and probably joined the Bttn in Gallipoli..
Peter died from Pneumonia on 3/2/1919. Another Pension Card states “DOW”. Both Soldiers Effects records state Peter was on Demob Furlough – meaning he was still serving at the time of death.  The 1914-15 Star also states Deceased, with no reference to discharge.
Son of Peter Joseph (Deceased) & Mary Ann Coleman, 47 Renshaw St, Stretford Rd, Hulme.  In 1911 Peter had worked for an India Rubber Manufacturer.
DC confirms Lobar Pneumonia as cause of death and Peter was a Rubber Worker. He died at home.  The DC says Ex 1/8th Manchesters.

The Diocese indicate there was a headstone on Peter Coleman's grave at St Joseph's. We need to review the inscription.

No headstone could be found on Peter Coleman's plot.  Consent of family required for CWGC headstone, or alternative commemoration will be provided.

Peter Coleman's commemoration in the UKBOR was accepted today.  In due course he should receive a new headstone at St Joseph's Moston.
