Morning Everybody

I'm Andy, no guessing where I'm from  ;)

Found the site through a thread on the British Medal Forum. so I thought I would come across and see if any of the members here could help me source information regarding a lad from WW1 I have a Victory medal for.

I will put his info here, but will also start a seperate thread requesting information. Hope this is ok?

The details I have are:

Name: Leonard Aimson
Rank: Private
Regiment: Manchester Regiment
Service Number: 8370
Also Served with : Labour Corps
Service Number: 635466

I have images of his MIC and the Medal Rolls for his 14-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals.
The 15 Star Roll has him as serving with the 17th.

He landed in France on the 8th November 1915 and discharged the 9th March 1919.

Can anybody help/expand on the information I have please?

Regards

Andy

Welcome to the forum Andy. I'm not really one to do research on ones that survived as i deal with the war graves side for the forum so if you need help there just give me a PM. Also if you are able to help with doing some photos i'm sure i can find you some to do.

There are a few on the forum that i should be able to help you and i'm sure that they will be in contact with you. Have you tried the 1911 and 1891 census records yet?

Regards

Mike

Hi Andy

Here are some of the Labour Corps numbers

364700 to around 388200 Sept-Nov 1917.
388300 to around 389500 Oct-Nov 1917 in Salonika.

Know you have a time he may have moved over from the regiment.
