Edward Hagan

I wonder if anyone can help me with a family history search. Within my family tree is a man called Edward Hagan who was born in 1890. In 1911 he was living at Albion Terrace in Miles Platting. He married in Q2 1912 to Mary Elizabeth Smith and they had 2 children born in Q4 2012 and Q1 1915. From memory I was always told that he had served in WW1.

I have found details of an Edward Hagan who served with the Manchester Regiment and the Royal Engineers and wondered if this was him? His soldier number with the Manchester Regiment was 21994 and his rank was private. He also has a soldier number of 342888 - rank private in the Royal Engineers. It would appear that he served from 1914 to 1920.

Could anyone help to identify if this is my Edward Hagan? It is a very unusual name!

Hi Phil

When you look at the medal roll pages and not the Medal index card (MIC) the 1915 star says he was with the 23rd Bn Manchester Regt, the British War Medal & Victory Medal (BWM&VM) roll page says he was with the 13th Bn Manchester Regt, he moved across to France 7th Oct 1915. There is an Edward Hagan who was in the Lancashire Fusiliers, this was another Regiment that was base around Salford & Manchester (Greater Manchester with its HQ in Bury)

Here are the other Edward Hagan's with MIC, you should also have a look at the E.Hagan see attach
