Manchesters in Tenby & Carmarthenshire circa 1939/40

I know my father was in the Manchesters, having been in the T.A. before the outbreak of war.  I believe he was stationed at The Rectory, Tenby before 'camping out' at Coygen near Laugharne, Carmarthenshire where he met his wife-to-be, my mother on a nearby farm.  Any details at all about this particular 'posting' would be gratefully received.  One story of his I remember was that one of his roles was to train a local Home Guard unit - interesting because they were Welsh speaking....

The majority of the Home Guard unit would have been bilingual speaking both English and Welsh.

Do you now which Battalion he was with.

The 2/9th Battalion moved to Tenby,Pembrokeshire 11th April 1940 then onto Pontypool Oct 1940.

Thank you for your follow-up query.  My mother's old address book cum farm accounts book cum recipe book seems to suggest 2/9 ('B' Company) but I don't think he went on to Pontypool.  He was certainly camped on Coygen in Llansadurnen, Carmarthenshire in September 1940.  He did a spell in Portsmouth training on 'radio location' but I am unclear whether this was an attachment to RAOC or whether he changed regiments.  I know his Army record would clarify things but his immediate next of kin - my mother - at nearly 95 would prefer her memories to paperwork.....
