Harry Sevitt 51st Lancashire Home Guard

Hi everyone,

I was doing some research on my grandad and found a picture http://www.manchester-regiment.org.uk/frontend.php?keywords=Ref_No_increment;EQUALS;MR01432&pos=2&action=zoom of him online which said he was a captain in this regiment in the Home Guard during the war. Just wondering if anyone had any info or knows of the best way of finding out more about him. He was born in Ireland and was in his late 20s at the start of the war. I believe he was the medical officer for his unit as he was a doctor. He moved to Glasgow a few years after the war.

Thanks,
Adam

Adam.
As the photograph is of the officers of the 51st Battalion of the Lancashire Home Guard based in Ashton-under-Lyne, presumably he lived/worked in the Ashton area. A trawl through the Ashton Reporter might help.
