I spotted this website during my meanderings.
http://www.togethertrust.org.uk/ww1-roll-honour
The only man identified on 17th Bttn seems to be Sgt Walter Cunningham, who was wounded at Montauban on 1/2 July 1916.
I imagine these the Rolls may provide some interesting data and wonder is anyone has seen more or been in contact with the Trust?
Wendyg's post about the Bugle Band http://themanchesters.org/forum/index.php?topic=7550.msg49277#msg49277 says there were 8 former Refuge men in 17th Bttn X Pln.
Following one Platoon and everything around them....
