Mark Beaumont

Hi all

I am trying to trace records of my paternal grandfather Frank Beaumont, born June (?) 1900, joined the MR at 18 and was (I am told) in Cologne at the end of WW1.  He was a very private person and never spoke of his personal history.  Could anyone point me toward any information about him?

Many thanks

Mark

Good morning and a Merry Christmas to you Mark,
Welcome to the Forum, just a first quickie, despite the day -

First possible - Frank Whitworth Beaumont, born 28 Nov 1896, Milnrow, Lancs. s/o Henry and Julia

OR

Frank Beaumont, born 13 Nov 1894 (Ch. 22nd Dec. 1894) s/o Amelia Beaumont, Oldham, Lancs.

Could well be one of the Oldham Pals.
Starts off the search for those still in bed.

Cheers.
George.

Hi George

Merry Christmas, and thank you for taking the time to post a reply today.

Sadly, neither of these men were my grandfather, he was born in Huddersfield in 1900; his father moved the family to Chorley in Lancashire when my grandfather was a boy.  My father told me that my grandfather was a member of the Manchesters and I remember seeing his cap badge.  My father also told me that he was at Cologne when the armistice was declared.  Judging by the fact that his birthday was in June, he would only have joined the regiment following his eighteenth birthday in 1918.

I am sorry that I cannot shead any more light on the subject, but as I said in my initial enquiry, my grandfather did not speak about his past.

Regards

Mark

Hi again Mark,
The only one that came up  from Yorks was - so  try this one

Frank Henry Beaumont, 1900, born to Harry R and Martha B, 1900, in Brampton, Brierlow, Yorks.

Here's hoping.

George.
