Pte Eric Briggs 8th Bn

I have been notified by the secretary Preston Branch Kings and Manchester Regiments Association that Eric Briggs aged 94 recently passed away after suffering a fall,the funeral will be held on Thursday 2nd January 2013.Eric served throughout WW11 with the 8th Bn throughout the seige of Malta.RIP Eric

Very sad news indeed -
Eric was a very close friend indeed; also used to attend regularly at Ardwick for many years as a member of the aptly named "Malta Maffia" by George due to the closeness of the group who had served with the 8th Ardwicks all through the Siege of Malta from their move from France in May just prior to the Blitzcreig onslaught which led to the Dunkirk withdrawal.
Now back with all of your all mates Eric - May you Rest in Peace old Friend.
