which badge ?
« on: February 23, 2008, 08:46:59 PM »
Can anyone tell me which badge was worn by the sixth VB. I have just bought one but it is the usual "Tramconductors badge".But i read a article on the GENUKI site tha said five of the VBs wore the tram badge the sixth wore a Fleur De Lys. It also says that the 7tht territorial battalion and the 24thbattalion wore a patternd Fleur De Lys rather than a plain one.

the original 6th volunteer battalion wore slightly modified badge

the 6th volunteer battalion badge became the 10th Territorial battalion in 1908, in the great war the tenth wore a standard 'manchester coat of arms' badge

the 7th battalion ( originally the 4th Volunteer battalion) wore a floriated fleur de lys but as the war progressed they used the standard badge

the 24th did not wear the fleur de lys in the great war
