Copy and paste this is the link with your relative. Or did you look it up already.
My cousin went out to S A in the 60's he lives near the Orange River. There nare some Boer sites near him. He travels to some of the areas to visit his various children.
Did you look on the mother site at the BNinfo.      themanchesters.org there is quite a lot on the site it is really growing. My grandfather is named on a [alque at Ardwick Barracks I will find it and post it on here.
I'm sorry I can't help you with Boer War stuff. I would like to add my Grandfather and a pal whilst travelling to SA wrote a letter to a landlord in a pub in Oldham. Quite informative about the journey and has been included in a book. Not very politically correct.

Quote from Blueblood. He also has a photo on there. Think this is a photo of 20th batt b coy, think my Great uncle A Horridge(17384) is middle row third from right,do not know what year but got photo from box of family pics given to me,as usaul no info on the back, would be very gratefull of any info about the photo also hope it is a new photo for people to view.Blueblood. "

If I come across anything I will pass it on. Did you ever come to Oldham?  Do you have relatives here?

Hi,
Yes I coupled the two threads together with interest.
I read a book called With the 8th Division which includes the movements of the 17th Brigade of which the 2nd Manchesters formed a part. Definitely not political correct today.
Most of the family comes from Nantwich Cheshire with a cousin in the Manchester area.
Our son lives in Dubai so most of our travelling is to the Middle East.
Cheers Will
