Could anyone help me please?

I've been asked on another forum if I would like to tell the story of the Battalion as part of the BEF in 1940. I've consulted my vast library of reading material on the spring and early summer of 1940 and I've not found much to go on in either book. ;D

I will be visiting the Museum of manchester early in the New Year so I'm expecting to find a lot there. I've also been on this forums sister website.

Does anyone have any material relating to this Battalion within their collection? Anything at all, however small, would be much appreciated.

And of course it stands to reason that I will also post my work here too!!

Thanks in advance.

Jonathan.
I've only just come across your original request. You need to borrow a copy of Bell's history of the  Regular Battalions Manchester Regiment 1922-1948.
The history of the 2nd Battalion in the BEF is fully documented in this book.
If necessary try the inter-library lending system

Jonathan,
There is quite a detailed account of the 2nd Battalion's part in the BEF in 1940 in one of  the Manchester Regiment Gazettes of soon after the end of WWII.
These are on microfiche in the Regiment's archives in the library in Ashton-Under-Lyne.
