Hello Everone

I am currently trying to reseach my father Bernard Edward Mulvey, who I believe servered with the Manchester Regiment between 1939 - 1945/6. His Army number was 3533623. In 1942 he was listed on my older brother Tony's birth Certificate as Lanc Corperal but I beleived he completed his time as a Sergeant? Like many men following the second world war he seldon spoke of his time in the Army. I also recall that he enlisted before the advent of consription. He was also a musician (played piano/accordian) which I believe was something that he undertook during his time in the Army.

Any information would be of great assistance. Can I thank thoses whose hard work makes this site possible.

Best regards

David Mulvey

Hi & welcome David, if your father or mother are still alive they can apply for his service records free of charge. If sadly they are not, then you can apply but there is a charge for this.

Many thanks for advice. I'll apply to the MOD as you advise but if anyone should have any further info I'd be very thankful

David.
I suggest that you contact the Tameside Local Studies library and ask the  Archivist or one of her colleagues to look up the Manchester Regiment enlistment /discharge ledgers for WWII. Your father may well be there.
