New message from Carol

I watched your forum in October 2009 trying to work out where this war memorial, which was found in a scrap yard in Trafford Park, came from after it was broadcast on BBC North West. What an amazing job you all did.

My grandfather is on the Memorial and I just wanted to let you know that it has been repaired and the Coop are holding a rededication service this Friday at 11am at it's new home, Co-operative Funeral Care, 143, Cross Lane Salford.

Best wishes

Was this the Memorial recently also included on a BBC News item showing some of the orginal sheets which had not been completely removed ? If that is the case it was the one that used to be  at the top west corner of Agecroft Road across the road from The Motel on Bolton Road (A666).

George.

Pity I did not look at the precursor item !! This one is not the original Memorial I had looked at regretably, but at least this one has now been resituated from whence it can be viewed from the good folk of Cross Street Salford.
George.
