just to say hi to every one that replyed to my introduction, too many to reply to but thank you all of you.
im still trying to find my way round the forum, im bl+++dy usless on computers, cant teach an old dog new tricks.
if there is any one out there collects manch badges im trying to find out just what the genuine volenteer badges were made of, ie brass.wm. or bimetal any information will be very welcome.

Always white metal. 
The only exceptions are the 2VB which had a gilding metal lower scroll and the 5th VB busby badge which was blackened brass.

Dont buy off ebay they are all fake.  Antyhing that is offered for peanuts is a good clue.  Real ones range betwwen £65 - £120 depending on which Bn.

I meant to ask you in my last email is that old 8th Bn chap Eric Briggs stlll alive? by golly he must be a good age but I understand that one of his old gang Jack Hoiliday is still batting on even if now in a Nursing Home over in Manchester - that used to be a great crowd.
