Francis Crolla man/ regt.

 hi chaps i'd really appreciate some information on Francis Crolla amy service number 35455 4th man/ regt. he my have been wounded at some stage???/. he came from Ancoats manchester. many thanks bob.

hi bob,  and welcome to the forum, the 4th battalion never went over seas so he must have gone into another regiment, and gone over to be awarded a medal card, somebody will more than likely help you with this one later, enjoy tonyrod

3rd (Reserve) & 4th (Extra Reserve) Battalions
On the 4th August 1914 they were raised in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Later in Aug. 1914 the Battalions were moved the to Humber Defences.
In October 1914 the 3rd Battalion moved to Cleethorpes and the 4th Battalion moved to Riby.
The two Battalions remained on the Lincolnshire coast in Humber Garrison until the end of the War. 3rd Battalion at Cleethorpes & 4th Battalion at Riby, Tetney & Grimsby. (Humber Garrison).

there were four main crolla families living in the ancoats area,they lived around the oldham rd area.

vittore was a ice cream vendor formerly of 106 great ancoats st

cestano+mary

i think they are probably all related,but i cant be certain,not much help mate sorry
