Douglas

Hello.  I am very excited to have found the Manchester Regiment Group Forum.  My name is Douglas Fee and I live in Canada.  I have done research on my Grandfather's war service in the CEF(Canadian Expeditionary Force).  I thought once I had completed my research on my Grandfather's WWI service that I would be content, but previous military experience listed on Grandpa's attestation papers (45th Battalion, CEF)...  4th Manchester Regiment, 2 yrs... has me geared up for more research.  It will take some time for me to read through and understand how this forum functions and how I can use it for research, but I will poke away at it.  If anyone can give me pointers on getting the information I need or if they already have the information that I am looking for, then I would be extremely in your debt to receive such information.

Hi Douglas and a Very Warm Welcome to our Forum  ;D

I have isolated your request in order that any information regarding Samuel is kept to one thread.

Do you have a date line for his service with 4th Manchesters?

Here is our link to a short snap regarding the 4th which you may have already seen http://www.themanchesters.org/3rd%20batt.htm

Kind regards
Wendi  :)

Hi & welcome Douglas :)
On his Canadian attestation paper on ancestry. It states he signed up for 3years not two?
I take it you have applied for his full Canadian record?
I applied for my great uncles and received 75 pages and well worth the money i paid.

I do have my Grandfather's full Canadian record and I apologize for misreading the number 2 as a number 3.  I can see now that it looks more like a 3 than a 2.  Thank you for the reply.

I don't mean: I do have my Grandfather's full Canadian record and I apologize for misreading the number 2 as a number 3
I mean:  I do have my Grandfather's full Canadian record and I apologize for misreading the number 3 as a number 2
