Just managed to watch the first 8 and found them very enlightening, it seems that during  our time there(1951-54) it became known as the 'Iron Man's' (Gen. Sir Gerald Templar) time - the period during which the setup  began to change, nice to know that after all these years.

George, it just goes to prove that we are never too old to learn.  I have certainly learnt a lot about the 1st Bn in General and the time I was in Germany and Malaya with my father.
The link came from a contact who went to Slim School about 3 years after me, he joind the Parachute Regiment and served for 22 Years.  Out of all the ex Slimmers I am in contact with I am the only one that joined the RAF some did not join any service but the others that did all joined the Army.
