From "A District At War":
On 30th July, Privates William Alldred, Edward J. Holmes, James Barrow Owen and John Alfred Wrigley, all serving with the 18th (Service) Battalion (3rd City), Manchester Regiment (90th Brigade, 30th Division), were captured at Guillemont on the Somme and were being held as Prisoners of War in Dulmen, Westphalia and were employed on farm work. Word was later received (November 1916) that they were being well treated by the Germans and they were receiving letters and parcels from family and friends without any interference.
