We went to France in August and visited a few of their graves and we're going to Belgium next year to visit others. I have four relatives who were in the Manchester Regiment.

Lance Corporal Frederick Thomas 26086 Manchester 20th Battalion E company XVII who is buried at Serain Communal Cemetery extension he died on the 04/10/1918 aged 25 born 1893.
Private James Albert Charles 303187 2nd Battalion husband of Elizabeth Mary Charles he is buried at Joncourt East British Cemetery he died 01/10/1918 aged 26 born 1892 in Chorlton
Lance Corporal Herbert Ewart Loughton 50028 21st battalion Busigny Communal cemetery died 04/11/1918 aged 34 1883 louth Licolnshire

Other relatives were in different regiments but if anyone has any information or pictures on these four (I have a picture of Herbert) I would be very grateful  :) And Thank you for letting me join

Hi Gina, welcome to the forum. Hopefully we'll be able to help.

Please note that our website includes battalion histories (please click on the link in the top right hand corner). This will give you information about what actions the battalions were involve in on the days that your relatives died.

Hope this helps.

Best regards
Pete

That was really interesting we are going to go again in 2018 as that was the year my partners Great Grandpa was killed he was in the Scots Guards. Do you know any good Scottish sites I can look in to for any information, he only found out last weekend about his Great Grandpa. We never really had a lot of information in August when we went, we were told that the place we stayed at the people were experts yet sadly they didn't know a lot so we had to find places our selves and we were quite a distance from everywhere. This site is great and I will note everything down before we go again. Thank You
