I found photos of my grandad, David Noblett and was wondering if anyone recognized him or the other two with him. He's the private on the left.

Robert Bonner

If he is the man on the left then he was a Lance Corporal.  Judging by the rather indistinct shoulder badge of the man in the middle they were serving in Berlin at the time.

I agree and expand slightly - that the photograph appears to have been taken in the Cpl's Mess, Wavell Barracks, Berlin going off the rather vague Div sign on the right arm of the chap in the middle, so that means it was taken between August 1954 and December 1955,  all three faces are vaguely familiar especially the full Cpl in the middle and I have been racking my memory for a name without success - well it is all of 55 years ago!!. Will keep dusting off the cobwebs and hopefully come up with something.
Regards,
George.

Hi Justin
Have a look in the "Photos and Postcards by Battalion" then in the sections on Germany and Far East you may find your grandfather in some of them even if he is not there it will give you some idea of the two locations.
Have you thought of getting your Grandfathers Service Record which will confirm where and when he served plus any medals he was awarded.  If he is alive he can get them free, for you to get them you will need his next of kins permission and it will cost you about £30.00.  I have attached an application form and information leaflet for you.
Your Grandfathers Service Number indicates that he joined between October 1950 and September 1955.
Hope this helps.
