Hello,

Can anyone tell me about this chap.
He served in Malaya with the 1st Bn and later transferred to the Royal Signals and served in Borneo.

regards

Hi Sphinx,

I have checked my MVA listings without any success BUT there is something about the name that seems to be familiar so will have a go through "Jungle Bashers " later and get back to you.
George.

hi again Sphinx,

Had a good search of the Jungle Bunnies book but again not a trace of this chap; having done a rough check of his Number I would estimate that he had joined the Bn about the mid 1951's or  there-about. lt is possible that he may have transferred to the Royal Signals fairly soon after that
in order for him to have  served in Borneo after the Battalion had gone back to UK in 1954 (May) which would be a good enough reason for no mention in the Book. I am still wondering why the name should register with me and it may well be that it is just one of those "possible mental  flash backs we may often get".

Otherwise nothing registers with me at all, sorry ,

George

Hi Sphinx
I too have been racking the grey matter, the name and rank of Cpl W Hague dosn't ring a bell,as George stated he may have joined the battalion late 52,early 53,with the battalion being dispersed to company locations over a vast area it was extremely hard to follow the movements of personnel being posted in and out.
Good luck in your search
