Hi,

I joined today hoping to track down a photo of my Grandfather Michael P. Walsh. Manchester Regiment

I have his MIC with his regimental number :21632

Through another web site, (due to his Service Number), I was able to narrow down that he may have been with 23 Manchester  8 City Battalion

I have viewed the photo of A Company 2 Platoon. He is listed as being present. I just now need to pinpoint him!

Note:
Pte Walsh served 27 Nov 1914 - 13 May 1917 with the Regiment. He served in Italy but not sure where else!  He then joined the Labour Corps, followed by the the Yorks and Lancaster Regiment as well as the Leinster Regiment.

Regards
Alan

Thanks Pete,

Thanks for that info on 23rd/8 City Batt. Having just joined the site, I can explore around to seek out anything applicable to my Grandfather. Although I knew him well, I have not identified him in the photo! I hope my Mum can pick him out?
