Manchester Regiment Forum
A few years ago members of this Forum helped me tremendously with my research into: LAURENCE JOSEPH WILLIAMS, b.1875-d.1916, Private, 11043 in: X Platoon, C Company, 18th (Service) Battalion, Manchester Regiment, who was my mother's father. My mother was : LILLIAN JOSEPHINE WILLARD nee WILLIAMS.
The help I received enabled me to view his entire Service Record and details of his wife ELIZABETH WILLIAMS nee KERRIDGE and all of their children.
Because of the help from the 'Forum' I came into contact with relatives of my mother who live in the Manchester area.
Just a few days ago I opened a email from the 'website, BillionGraves'. I do not subscribe to this site, but on examination it provided details of my Grandmother: Elizabeth Williams (born Kerridge) and where she is buried, which is: Atherton Cemetery, Atherton, England. What intrigued me was that she was interred in the same grave as: ANNIE HILDA WILLIAMS.
Details of Annie are sparse, save that she was 48 years when she died in 1944, which indicates her birth was c.1896, the same year that Laurence Joseph Williams married Elizabeth Kerridge.
The fact that Annie and Elizabeth are in the same grave indicates they were related - but how?
Yet again I have been searching websites and cannot find the link. Laurence Williams was born in 1875, Tullamore, Kings County (now Offaly), Ireland, so Annie may well be from his side. In the past I have not been that successful when looking through Irish records.
Can somebody help me please or point me in the right direction.
I look forward to hearing from Forum members.
Kind regards
Roy Willard
