ANDREW HORRIDGE

Am looking for any info on my Great Uncle ANDREW HORRIDGE who died on 1ST JULY 1916, his reg no was 17384 and he lived at 32 Chell Street, Longsight, Manchester.  He is buried at Dantzig Alley, Memetz. Did not know of him till Jan 2010 when started family tree.  He had a brther in Lancashire Fusiliers who was killed on 7th Aug 19915.  Would be bery graterful of anything, Thanks.

Hi, if you live in the Manchester area his grave is in Southern cemetery. If not you can get a copy from this web site but will cost you £3. I do know one or two people from around the cemetery area who might get you a photo next time they go to Southern cemetery.

I take it he must have an inscrition on the family grave? As the CWGC site states buried in DANTZIG ALLEY BRITISH CEMETERY, MAMETZ?
His father died a year later in 1917 and is in the grave with other family member. Church of England section, grave number S1329.

Hi Blueblood, i have managed to get hold of the grave photo for you but it is not the best shot of it. I have managed to write out the full inscription of who is in that grave for you plus all the bits & bobs i could find on your Horridge family, including two of Andrews brothers in the army WW1. I will email you it now just befor kick off.

pte 3758 john horridge was in the 9th lancs fusiliers,he was reported missing on 7th aug 1915,he was 28yrs old

i think nellies real name was sarah,ellen twitty,she appears to be their mothers daughter from a previous marriage/relationship,BUT who is maud,they didnt have a sister called maud
