Hi Steve, Welcome to the site. I have checked the list and he is not on there. They come in every now and again what info do you have about him?

Hi Steve
I can't find any record of him being a POW.
This may be of help though.
His name was Samuel Shotton, he went over seas with the Manchester's on the 8/11/15 but later transfered to the Boarder Regiment Number 29791. There is also one sheet of his service record on Ancestry.

hiya steve.
i think he was part of the army of occupation,he was in germany in january 1919,he had an accident on 5th jan 1919,he scalded his leg while changing over a dixie full of hot water,he was sent to the 38th field ambulance then to 66th gen hospital and admitted to wharncliffe war hospital, sheffield on 27th jan, discharged from the hospital on 19th feb,ime pretty sure he wasnt a POW at the time, because pte 28615 dyer stated that he was on guard duty over the battalion cooker when pte shotton was injured,if he had been a POW he would have been sent home for debriefing, and then sent on leave
lived at 27 peel green rd,barton
