Hi, I am a new member from Wigan and wonder if anyone can tell me what battalion do 2 pairs of medals that I have belong to.
1) 41760 Pte G. Peachey
2) 4414 Pte C. C. Farmer
Is there any way you can match the numbers to the Battalions ?
Thank you in anticipation
Best regards

Timbo

Hi Timbo

Firstly welcome to the forum.

I have been able to find a bit of information. Hopefully someone will confirm the battalions.

Pte G Peachey. 41760

George Peachey
Medals
                        Roll           Page
Victory        H/1/104 B39     7848
British                    Ditto

Was issued with a SWB on the 17th September 1918

Pte C. C. Farmer 4414, re numbered 251643

Cyril C Farmer
Medals

                      Roll              Page
Victory        H/1/104 B32      6557
British                  Ditto

The number 4414 was used by the Regular Battalions and the Territorial Forces
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th.
but his renumbered number is in the block issued by the 6th Battalion.
