Hello, just found this site.My Grandad Joseph Hammersley was in the the 23rd battalion he was only 14 when he signed up.cheers michael

hi michael, welcome to the forum, his that it ?  ;D you don't need any info! if you do just get back  ;D, your grandfather was one of hundreds of brave young men i use the term men because it did not take long for them to become one, must have become a good soldier to make l/sgt .tonyrod

theres a very sheepish looking lad in the 2nd row from the back,4th left,who looks young enough to be joseph

Hi mack, Ive seen the photo, my grandad is in the third row fourth from the right.He was in the territorials after the war, and served in the far east with the RA as a gunner in WW2.
