would you have any information on Francis Henry Smith who seved in the boer war and first world war and survived, im sure he was in the manchesters. He would have been living in colyhurst at the time, he was born 1883 in Middlesborogh yorks

George Moore he was killed at paschendale i think october 4th 1917 he was born in crewe, living in newton heath manchester in 1914.

William Carney i know he was in royal navy 1909-1914, then in manchester 12th battalion and was killed in action 7th july 1916 at the somme.

Corporal George moore 11th manchesters s company was born in haslington cheshire,his father Stephen mother Elizabeth his wife Margaret moore nee Donnelly married all saints lived christopher street Newton heath two sons Albert victor & George .George senior was killed at battle of Poelcappelle 4/10/1917 no known grave tyne cot,he worked on the railways like his dad.I am related to George,s sister gladys wood nee moore regards chris

More records have been published and you mau have already seen them.
George Moore disembarked overseas on 15/07/1915.  The Battalion History (below) shows 11th Bn landing at Gallipoli in Aug 1915 and the 1914-15 Star Roll says the Theatre 1. denoting France and Belgium.  I suspect the date is the landing at Mudros  Other forum members (PeteT) may explain more.  The Bn landed in France in July 1916.
Geroge was killed in action in Flanders on 04/10/1917 and his body was never identitfied.  His death was published in the Casualty List on 13/11/1917. The WFA Pension Card indicates  Margaret lived with at 154 Lodge St, Miles Platting with her three boys.  She received a £5 Grant and widows pension of 27/6.  Later a £15 War Gratuity.  George's name is inscribed on Tyne Cot Memorial.  Margaret did not return IWGC's Final Verification Form, which explains why his aged and NoK is omitted from the Register.
