pte williscrofts name was incorrectly spelt,his correct name was pte 5000 walter wooliscroft 16th lancers,KIA with the 15th royal warwicks,[pte 33205]hes a townsman of andys,born in macclesfield,he enlisted at broughton,salford

Hi Did any one just see it on the news? Found in a scrapyard when they were cleaning it out. They hadn't the heart to break it down? last night or this morning!

Hi all,
Just found your forum and your attempts to solve the mystery of where the memorial came from.

I am the granddaughter of Peter Hulland 2nd/5th Battalion East Lancs Regiment who worked for the C.W.S. who at that time was one of the countries largest land owners. My grandfather worked as a Timekeeper at Chaigley Farm, Chaigley, Nr Clitheroe up until 1916. We always knew he was on a C.W.S. memorial, somewhere in Manchester but were not sure where it was.
