Manchester Regiment (1st Battalion) - Major A T P Hudson (killed), Captain F F Deakin, Lieutenant J G B Gordon; for gallant conduct in repulse of Boer attack on Colonel Parkes column at Elands Spruit, December 19.  Sergeant J Croasdale, Colour Sergeant T Martin; for good work in same attack.  Private J Conroy; drowned in Klein Oliphants River, November 24, in a very gallant attempt to save a comrade.

Manchester Regiment - Captain C Toogood, DSO; for conspicuous good service in December and January.

Manchester Regiment - Captain G W F Brindley (killed); for gallantry in action.
