overwhelmed by number of forum potential threads to follow trying to advance only data I have being service number 1597 inscribed on rear face of grandfathers campaign service medal ( Star shaped with a v within large C or might be G on face )  I think relative might have been at Ardwick Green HQ
but uncertain. I can not get a lead on which battalion he was with. Time in Egypt is a possibility.Opening many web pages and forum entries has proved interesting reading but not helped me progress the 4 digit inscribed number to start a search thread. I hope experienced  contributors will kindly assist and point me in the right direction.  Thanks, gnash
