Please help solve a mystery!
« on: September 13, 2009, 03:45:33 PM »
Hi everyone

I've posted a few times before on my great uncle and the fact he is missing from the QSA medal roll. I have recently being contacted by the webmaster of the Casus Belli database who suggests he is actually on the medal roll! The message reads...

"Bunn is on WO100/198 p493 - a page to himself."

Is there anyone on this forum who would have access to this page? If there is no new information to be found after looking I promise to drop the subject...honest!!

Regards

Jonathan

Jonathon,

I have all the Manchester Regiment QSA rolls but unfortunately none have a page number on!!

I am sure what he says is correct but I do not have that page in my rolls, which I must admit is both annoying and worrying.

I hope someone else fairs better.

regards

Thanks for that Sphinx

I have a researcher friend who is going to have a look at the roll at the NA in the next couple of days to see what this page includes. If he finds anything I will post the findings on this thread.

Jonathan.

He's not on my hard copy of the 1st battalion roll either despite it including supplementary pages. Presumably he must have been entered on an 'extra' supplementary page which isn't included in our copies.

Hi everyone

Hi everyone

So given that he only earned a single state clasp (Natal) would I be right in thinking that as he died 29 June 1900 that he probably came out with a later draft of men, promptly contracted Enteric Fever and then died?
