Hi,
I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Stephen and I've just managed to (finally) find some information about my great-grandad, Alfred Greenwood. His regimental number was 7435 and he enslisted in 1902 in Ashton.

I don't know any more than that, except he went to India, South Africa and Singapore. I've been told that when he finally went into the reserves and then discharged, he rejoined in WW1 (a different regiment) and died afterwards due to illness caused by mustard gas - but I can't prove any of this.

If anyone could help me with his battalion as I don't know this, or anything at all - I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

Stephen

Hi Mack,

That's absolutely perfect - I really appreciate your help there! It'll help the family tree no end.

It's really interesting now that I've started to put some "meat on the bones"!

I shall be a regular visitor to the site I think.

Cheers again
