My Mother had two brothers who served with the Manchester regiment in or around the 2nd WW.  Martin Mcglynn died in Singapore and I have seen his name on the memorial there. His brother Patrick served but I don't know anything about his service but he survived the war.  Both the brothers played in the regimental band and Martin played football for the regiment.
