pte 350431[formerly 1835] william handley who fought side by side with his father,cpl 2121 robert handley,until his father was killed on 7th june 1915,and who was later invalided home with shell shock,has been killed,along with his friend,L/cpl 351697 stan green,on 7th may 1917,both of them were buried close to each other

pte handley lived with his mother,at 126 cotton st,ashton,he was 19yrs old
