Lt kenneth,maciver grierson was in command of the leading companies in the attack,on 27th october 1918,he led his men across the piave,and crawled forward and helped cut a gap in the wire to within 15yds of the enemy,all this was done while under observation and fire,from the embankment,his splendid example contributed to the capture of the first objectives,all the houses and stronpoints were tackled under his direction,in a systematic and dashing way
he recieved a DSO for this action,london gazette 2-4-19,he had already won the MC,LG 3-6-18,he was later awarded the bronze medal for valour[italy,LG 17-5-19.
