Hi Pete,
When was the Globe built at the Cameron Highlands base ? I do not seem to remember seeing it back in 1952 when we went in there to re ration and continue out on the follow up of the Ambush at milestone 19 after those five lads of ours were killed.
George.

George, I did not remember the name "Globe" but there was an "AKC" cinema there while I was at Slim School 1952 to 1954.  We had transport from the school to the cinema on a Saturday night once a month.

Hi Cliff,
Must have had a face-lift since then Cliff, I just did not recognise the structure at all - mind you at the time we were  more concerned with getting re-rationed and back out again so my mind could very well have been elsewhere at the time. That was my only visit in fact to the Cameron Highlands base during C Company's tour there.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Cheers. george.
