1st Batt Manchester Flag Photo

I thought I'd share this photo of a flag I just purchased.  It is 46 by 54 mm on a formerly blue silk field.  Nice embroidery.  I'll post the battle honors and some close-ups soon!

Its not a flag.

Its a commercially produced "sweetheart" silk embroidery piece bought by soldiers to send to their relatives.

All Regiments had them done.

You will find a 2nd Bn. one quite common also.

Beautiful items if the sun has not got to them as they quickly fade and rot.
