Morning Mack,
Definitely wrong, the photograph I have of his grave in Western Road Penang clearly states his age as 19years; I have just checked bmd's and can confirm him registered Sep qtr. 1932, Manchester.
Re Cpl Adrian Ak. Terang's name not being on the Forces Memorial Listings, nor included on the page of those listed as being KIA in Malaya in the Shrine of the Regimental Chapel in Manchester Cathedral - this has been a sore point with me ever since I noted him not listed on the latter and began to make enquiries only to be informed ' He was not Manchesters' to which my argument was and still is 'He was attached as part of the Sarawak Rangers Platoon to the Manchester Regiment from March 1953, he patrolled for the Manchester Regiment and was killed in an action of the Manchester Regiment on the same day as 2/Lt Raingill and is ,in my opinion, entitled therefore to be listed on that page.' I first started this back in the late 1950's, re-opened it when the MVA were formed in 1984 but have had no success and Bob, with all due respect, we have been friends now for what - some 55 years - I make no apologies for re-opening the matter at this stage, it is not too late to push for this addition to be admitted by the powers that be.
Cheers,
George
